    Baby girl Building Blocks

My cousin isn't due until January, lol. She's a Disney nut, hence the flannel Ariel backing. I'm going to attempt to crochet a mermaid tail outfit for her to go with it, K is also a photographer living in Florida and will enjoy the photo prop. The crochet probably will take me until January.

Just an FYI, this was a craftsy pattern, and only used one charm pack and yardage. There are 16 blocks in the quilt, and the sashings in each block are not the same size as the ones between the blocks. It's 42" square, and it's called Building Blocks by Sew Excited Designs. She has another pattern that is very similar, and I'm pretty sure I can make it (the other design) without the pattern. Not free, but not an expensive pattern.

Another good thing is that, if you're really careful, you can back it with 1 1/4 yds x WOF and have a little strip left for the scrap bin.

She will love it. Good luck with the mermaid tail. Maybe it will go faster than you think.
