    Black and White Chevron

    IMG_1091a.jpg

I have been going back and forth for a while about a quilt for my bed. We are renting and I hesitated to invest in a quilt to go with the wallpaper. The wallpaper is pretty but not in any way my color themes or style. I finally decided to go for it. The quilt pattern needed to be not too fussy to fight with the wallpaper. I have enough fabric to do shams and throw pillows. I eventually had to order the b/w fabric from the States because i couldn't find anything that struck my fancy here.

I like how it pulls the room together but have decided that quilting a king sized quilt is beyond my desires as well as my abilities on my DMS. Now, all I have to decide is if I want to spend the money getting this monster quilted or cut my loses and go back to the white duvet and shams.

But at least it will go with our walls in our house in Missouri which are light grey.

That looks really nice with your wallpaper! Hope you find an affordable solution to getting it quilted. Or you know you could just do it by hand!

I love it! I have a room in my house called the chevron room. Only chevron quilts go on the bed in there!

I never have been a fan of chevron quilts..BUT, this one is awesome and looks wonderful with the wallpaper. You took a chance, and it was a good one! Well done! SEW.......are you going to have it LAQd? I think I would. That's a BiG size to try on your DMS.

I'm wondering, and would love to hear other's opinions if this would work:

Since you aren't ready to tackle the FMQ on your domestic (don't blame you for that), and the cost of sending it out may be out of your comfort zone at this time, and it's too lovely too stick in the closet unfinished...

If it were me, I would consider attaching an extra wide border, and then turn it into a duvet cover. Then later when I was ready to have it longarm quilted, it would be easy enough to remove the backside of the duvet cover and trim the border down to an appealing width.

That is a brilliant idea! Put those un quilted tops into service! Better on a bed than in a drawer or closet!

There is something about a chevron quilt. It's humble, yet modern. I love it!

Very nice compliment to the wallpaper pattern. Love the quilt, it really pulls the room together.
