    Hunters Star

    image.jpgimage.jpg
My husband rolled his eyes when I said how chuffed I was with all my points, my answer was that other quilters would certainly appreciate the work required even if he didn't. I used Deb Tucker's rapid fire ruler and it was a joy to do. I had planned to FMQ all over but it was too heavy going with having the teddy fur fleece as backing so just did the outer border. I did stitch in the ditch every flippin seam though. No wadding is required when using the fleece and it makes it so cuddly as a lap quilt. I put labour time and fabric cost on the label for the first time and it will be interesting to see how the costings change in 10 or 20 years from now.

Just Beautiful. I have the Deb Tucker Rapid Fire Ruler, so far have only used it to make a table runner but want to make a quilt eventually.

            Beautiful quilt!
I'm glad you enjoyed the rapid fire ruler; I have one, too, but have not yet used it.
Your quilting is gorgeous and yoru label is quite interesting. What a neat idea to put the cost on there so someone can know how much it's changed.

Beautiful quilting on the borders of a beautiful quilt. Hunter's Star is on my list of quilts to-do, but I have no idea what a rapid fire ruler is.

The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.

Thanks, SwedishLeo, but is this easier than Jenny's way? It looks pretty complicated.

Cindy, there are far less seams with the rapid fire ruler. I enjoyed watching Jenny's tutorial but didn't fancy doing all those small half square triangles.

Great colors and excellent precision on your points. I made a hunters star too, but it isn't as good as this. What's the fabric on the back?
