    First try at FMQing

Made this for a friend who is battling cancer. She wanted Blues and earth tones and used to live in Alaska-thus the sea-life on the backing. Some of the light brown reminds me more of white mocha coffee, but she may like that! I needed practice on FMQing so tried it out. The last pic is left over fabric made into a hot pad.

How do you get these pictures to turn right??

Lucy, this is great! Congratulations on your FMQ and I think it looks great. Wasn't it fun to do??!! I'm just playing with FMQing myself. Just got a Baby Lock Tiarra III and my first quilt done on it is in the dryer as I type. Lucy, I LOVE that backing fabric. That is SEW Alaska and don't think I've seen that here. Your quilts are ALWAYS beautiful. What a lucky friend you have and I sure hope her cancer treatment is successful.

Thank you Sharon and all! The fabric on the back is a line that was released to only Alaska this Spring and will be available to everyone else soon. I think maybe August but not sure. She received her quilt and loved it and told me she will "Fight like a girl" to get over and through it!

A Baby Lock Tiara III sounds fun but I'm not familiar with them. Maybe when I go to the lower 48 I can look at some and see what they do!
