    Strrrrretching a charm pack

I added six FQs and a little bit of yardage to a Reel Time charm pack to make this quilt for my middle brother. He's about 6'3", so I wanted to make it a large throw, at least large enough that he'll stop stealing my niece's quilt off her bed while watching TV. I finished hand sewing the binding this afternoon at Mom's while he cooked on the grill, and he had no idea that it was his quilt I was working on. He mentioned that he really liked this one, and I said " I'm glad to hear that since it's yours".

I made him a pillowcase from the backing fabric, and wrote on one of the cassette labels "Sisters are awesome". I also briefly considered labeling a bunch of the tapes on the backing with the names of Weird Al albums, just for fun. Simple SITD quilting with orange thread since that's his favorite color.

Very nice! Don't you just love it when they say they like it before they know its theirs?

Beautiful. Like the stripped border print. I really like the idea of making a pillow case to match. Something to think about for some of my future projects.

Having 3 tall men in the family I know that you have to add to make them long enough. One of my favorite memories was when my son sent our 3 year old grandson Zachary came up for a month with out his blankie ( a baby quilt I made that they were trying to break him from). My husband was on the couch with his blankie I had made him when the tug of war started between Zachary and my husband. Finally after a lot of teasing Pepa let Zachary cuddle up under it and take it to bed with him. Next time Zach came up we insisted he bring his blankie with him. He is a little autistic and outgrew it at 7 when it was down to a 12" square. Your brother will love it.
