So excited. I finished a quilt!!!

Not my first quilt. But I have been such a flake the last bunch of months, more than I want to admit to. I did a couple table runners in a group swap and a small item or two, I have super cleaned and reorganized my craft room and stuff, but really have not finished any of the numerous projects I have started. I even organized my patterns.

This quilt was an ugly quilt early on, but I came to really like it. Not one of my best pieces, but it was fun and it is DONE and ready to warm somebody. Do not know who that is yet. But it will find a home.

I used a bed sheet for the backing and I love how that worked. I just used the backing for the binding too.

I finally feel like I am back in the game and have no specific goals or lists, just going to finish up what I started.

I did prepare all the pieces for a runner for a coworker who does for others and I prepared fabric and the paper pieces pages to make 5 blocks for one of the Pulse Orlando project, for the Orlando guild.

Feeling good this 4th of July. Thanks for looking.

Yeah Karen, good for you! Love the quilt, now if you can just share what it was that got you going. I could use a good dose of it! I don't think I have done anything other than patch jeans since the swap. Keep up the good work.

Reorganizing and putting everything away (like in the closet, cannot see) that was not needed for all the projects I have started. All the started ones are sorted and in a project bag or box. Everything looks so nice and clean that it is inviting to go work.

The other problem for me was I wanted to be a part of everything. I finally discovered that just does not work. So now I might keep up with a group and watch everyones progress and learn tips, etc, but I do not need to do the actual project.

I quilt by myself right now. I am trying to put myself together so I can stop flaking out and get to a guild meeting. Met a couple ladies on the cruise, and I let my life get in the way. I will get there.

One step at a time. Okay long story for short answer. Cleaning up the place and reorganizing really helped kick me in the butt!

              Thanks all for the compliments.

That turned out great. Love the colors and the sashing really works well with your blocks. Doesn't it feel great to finish something! Congrats!

I think it's really pretty--love the colors. I, too, have several ufos I need to finish up-but I really need to make two baby quilts--soon! Life does get in the way, there is always something that needs to be done in this house. Since I had to work Sat and Sun I spent my 4th of July running errands and cleaning house.

Cleaning up the quilt room helps me too - makes me see all my unfinished projects, haha.
Beautiful quilt and whoever is blessed with it will love it. I haven't used a sheet before as a backing and I have a bunch to give away so maybe I will think twice about them before I put them in the yard sale pile if I can use them or not.
