My friend Anna is a wonderful actress and singer. She has appeared with many community and professional theatre groups in our city for many years. She does a Patsy Cline cover act, sings as a back up to one of St. Louis's most well known Elvis impersonators. She sang in 3 shows last summer in our summer outdoor show venue, the Muny Opera. Every body in theatre in our town knows Anna!
13 years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was cast as Annie in Annie Get Your Gun. She begged not to be replaced, and somehow made it through the show, fabulous as always, even while going through chemo and radiation. After her treatments were over, she adopted Wonder Woman as an inspiration and symbol, and had WW tattooed on her hip. All has been well since then til last summer, when she started having respiratory problems while singing. It didn't get better and in April, she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. It had metastitized from the breast cancer. She is being treated at the Siteman Cancer Center, where cutting edge therapies are available, and is showing improvement and promise for recovery.
Her theatre friends are throwing a big event for her Monday night, a cabaret and silent auction. I offered two of my NCW wallets to the cause, one with Wonder Woman fabric and one with our cherished St. Louis Cardinals fabric. The money will go toward helping her with her medical expenses.
As many NCWs as I've made, you would think they would all be good. But NOOOO! My first WW one was a disaster, and had to be picked apart and redone!

Wonky mess because I put the holes for the twist part in the wrong place! Last thing I do and I mess it up! Last piece of cherished WW fabric I own!
But actually the second attempt turned out great so I was really happy to have had to do it again! Happy to have this done!

Much better!
Say some prayers for Anna when you think of it, OK?
