Finished the top on my first ever string quilt

I was supposed to swap these with other ladies in a group that I belong to. But, I liked how the various fabrics came together so well (albeit the fact that these were all randomly chosen). I'm bringing this to my longarm quilter, this afternoon, so she can do her magic. It is the first of several quilts that I'm giving away as Christmas presents, this year. The blocks whipped up so quickly (I think I made an average of 8 in one day; so this quilt top was essentially all finished in about 3 days). I whipped up another 12 blocks this last Sunday. Those blocks will go into the swap that I joined.

Wow, you really did get the mix of colors right in your blocks! That is really nice. And the dotted border is very pretty with the blocks. Great job!

your string quilt is awesome! You are right--all the colors played very nicely together. I love your choice of border too. I love string quilts and have a healthy box of strings I need to get out and play with.

Great quilt! I can see why you kept this one for yourself. The colors play very nicely together and your blue border really makes the blocks pop.

Very nice! I have loved string quilts ever since I found an antique string quilt top in a dusty old shop one time. I didn't know what a string quilt was, but my great aunt did. She educated me, and I felt inspired to quilt it by hand. It's one of my favorites. Yours is a real keeper, too!

Awesome.....looks like you did a great job. This is one of the quilt patterns I like. It's on my "list" of favorites......I agree about the border, you really did a great job with the colors etc.

Great job love string quilts, I sat TBI morning and went thru my strings , sorted the neutrals from the rest and got them nearly folded . partly due to trying to get organized and partly waiting to go to my Drs appt for a cortisone injection in my back . love your colors and arrangent.

I like your quilt. Love all the colors. I have several blocks made for another string quilt, but they are one of my UFO's. Other patterns took precedence. I like to use up my 2.5" strips from borders & bindings for the strings.

Great colors - that white center in each block really pulls the quilt together nicely and the blue border finishes the quilt just in the right way.
