    Firefly Glow

I love to see the fireflies glow at night out here at the lake. I made this quilt inspired by the beautiful glowing colors of the fireflies.

You make gorgeous quilts! The swirly-ness of the fabric really gives it movement. Love the colors!

We call them lightenin' bugs Either way, your quilt does them justice. Very beautiful.

Did you pp this? It is gorgeous, and all your points are perfect!!! I would not have thought of using a brown border but it works really well, does not compete with all the bright colors you used. Nice job!

That's a wonderful quilt Denise. When I was a kid we would catch lightning bugs in jars and taken them into our rooms and turn out the lights.

Thanks for the kind words. This is my simplified version of Jinny Beyers free Kashmir pattern.

                            https://www.jinnybeyer.com/quilting-...3219560284D710

I love her designs. I simplified the design by not using border fabric where she called for it in the interior of the quilt. Yes it is supposed to be paper pieced according to her instructions. I am a beginner paper piecer and suggest adding an extra 1/4" to the width of her cut directions. All the length of her cut directions were fine.

Actually after ruining two paper pieced units ( I managed to ruffle both blocks, how is that even possible on paper?) I gave up and pieced the units instead of paper piecing. I know how to piece. You can see my tips on how to piece the units (instead of paper piecing) here
