Of course it counts! It is the first finished in 2016. We don't consider when it was started, but when it was finished. And that is a good thing, as all my finishes in the beginning of 2016 will be from tops pieced in 2015.

I love it! Great job! I plan on doing that pattern with Fresh Cut by Basic Grey. I don't know if there is enough contrasts with that fabric. Yours looks beautiful. I was wondering how hard it was to do?

Some of you asked about the difficulty of this. It really wasn't too bad. Some of my points aren't perfect, but I can live with that. Jenny suggests ironing each triangle, and I found that helped a lot. I say go for it!
