FINALLY!! My dad's charity quilt :)

Awhile ago, my dad asked me to make a quilt for a charity function. He has Parkinson's and is the chair of a movement disorders foundation in Savannah. I wanted to make something Civil War because of it being Savannah (the only city in the south that didn't "burn" when Sherman came through...he gave the city to Lincoln as a Christmas present.) So, I chose an old (kinda) looking pattern and then did the M* twist This is the Big Star pattern....only done a little smaller. I used 6.5" blocks instead of 10" and adjusted all the other sizes to match. Quilted by my friend, Paula, with an all-over feather So...drumroll please....

That turned out great! Are they going to auction or raffle it? Either way, I hope it raises lots of money! Parkinson's is dear to my heart, my grandmother had a very mild form - more of a slight tremor, but a cousin has a more advanced case.

This might be one of the most beautiful versions I've seen. I love the pattern and the colors are just perfect. Best wishes to your father and those he helps.

Thanks! They are doing a silent auction. I was working on the blocks when my dad informed me they intend to start the bidding at $1000. I nearly choked! I was soooo nervous about making it perfect. It isn't, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. A good long-arm quilter really does hide a multitude of sins :-)

That turned out really nice! Good for them for setting the opening bid high. Too many quilts go for little to nothing when they are auctioned.
