    Christmas gifts . . .

I can't find the thread now that was asking for some ideas for Christmas gifts.
Here are some of the 6 Pocket Purses I made for the gals at work.
I found out their favorite colors and pulled everything from my stash. I was quite pleased with what I found.
One liked tree-green. I thought 'really?' and I found tree fabric!
One liked orange. Didn't have enough to make the front and back the same so she will get one with different sides.
One is a quilter. One is a lime green lover. One is very religious so I used angel fabric (the brown one). One liked
pink and one liked pink and purple. And another likes snowmen. Still 2 more likes blues and greens. They are sisters so I made them the same - only changed the lining top piece.
They are all folded in half except for the snowman one. I love the way they turned out. The handles create the pockets - 3 on each side.

You have been so busy - and I thought I'd accomplished a whole lot this morning because I had to rethread part of my serger . . .

I hope you don't think I did these this morning, Sandy? haha! They took me quite awhile. I think I started pulling fabrics back in September, spent another entire day cutting out the pieces, another day sewing the batting into the handles, another few days sewing them together - I think I made about 17 in all. Now they need washed, ironed, and wrapped and hope to take them in to work next week so they are there and ready.

They are called Pick A Pocket Purse. I don't know how to put a link in here so this is what you do.
            Go to Home | AllPeopleQuilt.com
            then click on bags, pillows,gifts
            then click on bags purses
            then click on see more
scroll down to the Pick A Pocket Purse - they did it in green and blue.
They finish at 8x10 and the only thing I changed was the width of the straps they said to cut 2 strips at 4 x 34 1/2". I read it wrong and cut them at 2 1/2" x 34 1/2". I liked the skinnier straps for a bag that size.
When I did the snowman bag, I used a panel for the front and did use a 4" x 34 1/2" inch strip I believe.
I used regular batting for the inside. They are very easy to make. Or, I wouldn't have made them - )

Yes, saw those. There are all kinds of tutes for bags. I like trying different ones to find which are the easiest!

Those are darling bags!!! Where do you work and do they have any open positions for me?!!! My co-workers wouldn't even give each other paper bags much less sew such pretty ones and have any awareness of what everybody's favorite color is!! I tried sprucing up our office bulletin board with some colored rickrack and my manager made me take it all down.
