    Baby Quilt Completed

Though I have a few tops finished, this is my first fully completed quilt made for my brand new nephew, 2 week old Quinn in Sydney, Australia. This is also my first attempt at free motion quilting. What a pain in the butt! I was only able to manage loops but I like the overall effect for the most part. There are a few places on the back where the stitches are a bit ugly and some small knots but hopefully next time I'll improve. Just happy to finally have finished something!

Well done, hilrow. I think you've done an excellent job with the free motion - I can't (and don't) do it at all. And its coming to Sydney - how cool is that!!!

Your baby quilt is wonderful!! The fabric is perfect and you did a really good job. I'm sure Quinn won't be looking at the stitches on the back of the quilt...he will be cuddling in a special quilt made gy Grammy!! Thanks for sharing your pics...Barb

Cute! I think you did an awesome job on the free motion quilting. I just finished one about 2 weeks ago and held my breath while I washed it up and was glad to see the stitches didn't come apart. I had the thread break several times so I would just start where it broke and went back and forth a few times to lock them in.

To quilt or not to quilt?.....what a ridiculous question!

Very nice indeed! You did a great job with fabrics and FMQ. FMQ and the binding are my favorite parts, probably because they are relaxing for me.
