    don't worry....bee happy quilt

love the fabric....such happy colors. it's 41x55, manageable for me.....since i am new to quilting, i find it difficult to work on very large projects.

it's my first pieced backing.....i couldnt get 108 in wide fabric in a color i liked....i am not sure i did it the right way, but it worked.....there is a strip of one of the pieced colors on the back....and i had to use my circle ruler so i cut a 10 in circle and appliqued it to the center back ....the bees of course !!

actually i do not know how to applique correctly, so i just zig zagged it on and the quilting should really secure it. quilted using my fav X's thru the boxes and also made a template of a diamond shape to use on the border.

That is cheerful looking and a perfect color combination for the summer. Your backing sounds interesting and fun.

Pam, I love what you've done with your quilt. I especially like the way you have done the border. You know, being creative with quilting, even the backs, is what makes every quilt unique. I happen to like pieced backs and have attended many seminars and classes where the 'professional' quilters always added extra blocks or some other creative pattern on the back of their quilts to 'tie it all together'. I think this moves you up to the professional ranks! Want to sell your quilt?

i am certainly no where near "good" but i do have fun. i sent pix to a friend and she said it reminded her of honey bees....BUT she didnt see the bees in the fabric !! comes across solid yellow. this is the bee fabric in it....border and 6 in sq in field.

sure i would love to sell stuff to keep me in fabric ! but i know i am not ready for prime time !! i wouldnt even know where to start selling. so far i make for me and gifts for those i love dearly. lot of effort in this here hobby...aka addiction.

It makes me happy just looking at it! The black really makes the cheerful yellow stand out. Love everything about it.

Nice job! Love the yellow with black. I also have some yellow bee fabric, it's not quite the same as your but still very cheerful.
