Would you add sashing ?

I made a sample....... to see if this block is doable for me..... I like it but I haven't decided whether to sash it or not. This block isn't part of the colors of my quilt.... ..it's just a test piece. The quilt colors are pastel florals with white ....

It is beautiful! For sashing.....Maybe something in one of the pastel colors, just darker? Or if you want the flower garden look, just keep without sashing. Then the pastel florals will stand out. Just a thought!

Thank you both....... your opinions really help me....... and I appreciate you taking time to respond. I like that block too Sandy.... and it was easier than I thought. I've never been great with triangles. .

Mia, I love that pattern. What size block did you end up with? About sashing, I'm too new at this to know. I think it would look nice but I wouldn't know what color to use. I still have a hard time imagining what it would look like. Can't wait to see what you end up with.

I would not add sashing because where your white triangles come together there would be diamonds and I think that would a a nice secondary pattern. I would do a colorful border rather than sashing. Just another opinion from the P'Nut Gallery....Barb

Just my opinion, but I think it would look awesome with sashing. Good luck with whatever you choose and send pictures when you are done.

Barb, your comment about the triangles makes great sense. I guess I'll have to make a few more test squares and then I can lay them out with and without sashing .....
