This is Raggedy Hearts......
I have made rag quilts before but they have always been made with flannel. This is the first cotton one and I like the way it turned out. I appliqued hearts to every other square......

Hi Karen ....thank you .
Yes I did use batting .... I made the cotton squares 6 1/2" and cut the batting smaller so it wouldn't get caught in the seams. I cut it about 5". This made the seams easier to sew and I didn't have batting to deal with. I did stitch an X on the blocks I didn't have a heart applique on ... to hold the batting in place.

Beautiful Mia! I have never tried a raggedy quilt but it looks like fun to do. I will have to put that on my bucket list.
