    Purse from scraps

Here's a purse I made from scraps from my BIL's Christmas quilt. Don't look too closely at the button hole. It's my first and was off center so I just made another next too and overlapping it and cut out the middle. For a purse I want it to open easily anyway but the two hole-stitching aren't even. Guess I'll have to practice that. Next lesson will be putting a zipper into a bag - I'm still too scared to do that.

Forgot to mention...it's also my first attempt at FMQing.

Great job! Your button hole doesn't look bad at all. Wish you were close by - I can do zippers . . . may not be able to do button holes, but I can do zippers.

If you hadn't told me about the button hole I wouldn't have known! I looked at it before I read it and my first thought was how good your FMQ was. This is such a cute bag!

Very pretty bag. You would never know it was scraps.

I'll take it! It turned out great. Your FMQ is excellent and I would not have noticed the buttonhole issue if you hadn't mentioned it.

BTW, there are some great tutorials on youtube for putting a zipper in a bag. It's not that bad. I know you can do it!
