First Attempt At Aprons. (Don't Laugh) ^-^

So I haven't touched a sewing machine since I was 14 (high school home economics). That was 10 years ago! I recently purchased a Brother SQ9000 for myself (very cute machine). I'm still getting acquainted with everything the machine does, but couldn't wait to try my hand at apron making.

So... attempt #1. A blueberry candy stripe apron, with ruffles. To be honest, it was made from a new sheet set I had purchased. I'm not up on all of the do's & don'ts of the sewing world just yet, so I'm not sure if that's a no no. But yeah, I used sheets! -laugh- I lined it with a white sheet, to give it a thicker feel.

Barbie, this is soooo cute! I love the pattern and fabric. I've never used sheets, but why not? Great job on getting back into sewing. Isn't it fun?

What a great 'FIRST' project. I agree, sheets are great - I even find them at the thrift stores for just a few pennies and that makes them even more special. Some make great backings on quilts, they can be made into a whole lot of neat things.
