    scrappy Dresden Plate

Here is a scrappy dresden plate l've nearly finshed it just needs 1 more blade but l thought l would show you what l've done so far. I'm having a go at making a quilt for my 7 yr old neice for either her birthday in november or for xmas. The plate is going in the middle and l'm going to sew it to calico and the rest of the quilt is going to have pinwheels in it. One of our fellow quilters Patty put the link to the web site on her facebook page ...The page for the scrappy plate is called " Lurline's Place" the url is http://lurlineg.blogspot.com/2009/12/dresden-plate-tutorial.html ...

OH! Aren't they fun!!!! I just got done making 5 using the 5" petals and am using scrappy fabrics too. When I get the project done, I'll post a photo of it. It needs to be done by next Saturday and I'll probably need all that time to finish what I am doing to them.

        Yours is really pretty.

        Hugs,

Oh Jess - this is truly an easy one! Do you have the dresden ruler? That's all you need and a charm pack if you want 5" petals. I watched Jenny's tutorial. If you want larger petals so you won't need as many dresden flowers, just lay the ruler down with the number at the top of the fabric that you want (8", 7", 6" etc.) and cut down the right and left sides and across the bottom. I was cutting 4 layers at a time and all you need is 20 petals to make the circle. It really is easy! Please try it.

                          Hugs,

Very pretty, Lisa. Did you piece strips and then cut out the dresden plates? I really like that look!
