    Cookie Jar Quilt

Another project finished. This one for my daughter (26) who loves baking.
Got the idea from About.com:quilting - Janet Wickell, lots of ideas and quilt/block patterns there. The possibilities are endless with all the fantastic fabrics available these days.. just love it ..
Hope your having a great weekend girls. Wendy

How cute. You DD will love it! I too have a bug jar quilt started that was given to me by a friend of mine who recently passed away. She had started it for her GS.I need to finish it.Thanks for reminding me of it.

Patrice, go to www.about.com and search for quilting or go to bottom of page and click 'Q'. There are heaps of free patterns and blocks and with good instructions.
Rhonda, very sad to hear of your friend, but sure she would be delighted knowing you had finished her quilt for her GS, such a kind gesture on your behalf, you are such a clever lady.

I made a bug jar wall hanging for my Dad and put vegetables in the jars to represent his garden. Even appliqued a small bunny here and there on it. It was easy and so quick to make! Pam, the jar base is just a rectangle or a square with a strip sewn beside each side and the lid is just a rectangle with a triangle sewn beside each side. That's your basic block! I'll have to take a photo of mine when I go to Dad tomorrow, don't think I have one already on my zip file to show you.

Love how yours turned out Wendy. They are fun, aren't they?!

I helped myself to a few cookies while looking. Hope you don't mind. What a great project.

Cute and clever. Those treats looked tasty. Think I might have gained a pound just looking!
