    Little Lone Star Quilt

    I have a niece getting married in a couple of weeks, and she loves the color purple. So I made her this little lone star quilt (the finished size is only 12" X 12") as an addition to her real gift (cash). This thing just about did me in. It was done with a paper-piecing technique and I had a horrible time getting the points to match. I ripped out every single point at least once, and a couple of them still did not match up. Grrrrr. But, overall I am satisfied with the outcome. Someone once told me if you stand back 4 feet and you can't see the error, it passes the test!

    My DH made the hanger for me. Isn't it cute?

    I think she will be thrilled.
    I would also like to know more about the hanger. What did he use for the "wire"?
    I have a small wall hanging type thing to use on our door on our next cruise, I want it to be reversible so that might work just great.
    Perhaps he would be happy to make more????

          Purr-fect! Love the quilt and the hanger. What's the hanger made from - it appears to be metal.
          Sometimes, when there's a raging fire,

                  Thanks all! My DH says the hanger is made from 16 gauge wire that he twisted before shaping. He then lacquered it with a lacquer spray. You can get the wire from Home Depot or Lowes.

                    I have a template for the Lone Star...no Y seams, just straight seams but I havent tried it yet. Looks easy enough, I just have to find the time. Here is a link...click on the "Watch Demo Video" link

                    You star looks gorgeous, especially with the hanger!! I wish MrWindy knew how to shape wire...i'd have a house full of those hangers!!
