I was cleaning out the closets to wash all of the quilts before the electric company replaced my meter ha ha. And I found this quilt I made for Holly in 2002.(Seethe tag in the lower left hand corner with the date on it) Wow she was just 4 years old.I took her to the fabric store and let her pick out the fun fabric that I made the bricks with and my husband drew a Gumby out and I turned it into a block. He loves Gumby. There is no telling how old the other Sunbonnet Sues were when I put them on this quilt.I was young ,young ,young when I made them. This quilt is falling apart but we still love it.I thought you guys would get a kick out of seeing it too.

Re: Does anybody remember Gumby???
This is GREAT!I know my son would pick out some cute and goofy fabric too, so it sounds like you have some great family memories tied up in this adorable quilt. That is the best part about quilts, the memories
Finished is way better than perfect! :icon_bigsmile:

Gosh, I thought only I knew gumby. LOL. What a neat-o rememberance to keep, Rhonda. Great job on the Gumby! I also have some ancient sunbonnets. don't know how many I don't think enough to sew up. hmnm, I wonder where they are!Sewing mends the soul.
