    Memory Quilt of Many Fabrics

IMG_0193 (1024x626).jpgI was asked by friends who had lost their 2 yr old son to cancer to make a quilt from his blankets, towels, receiving blankets and even his scarves. They did not want the blocks to be a square, so I came up with a braid pattern.

This has been quite the challenge as the various fabrics are all different thicknesses from terrycloth, minky, stretchy, to very thin receiving blankets.

So far, I have three panels ready to sew together and the parents love the quilt . When finished, the quilt will be king size.

Talk about a labor of love. You are creating such a beautiful memory quilt. I hope it brings some comfort and joy to the parents and you also for making it for them.

Wow Kim! What a challenge that must be, but it will be so loved!

I am sure it was hard on you too as you cut up the materials. I had trouble cutting up my dad's and uncle's shirts for memory pillows.
