    Been practise some blocks

    Hi

I have finaly recived my Log Cabin rulers from Marti Michells and I have been practising.
And I am glad I did.
They are all wonky and croked but they are fun to do.

I will practise some more and then when I have decided on what fabric I want I will go to work
    on my project!

    Here is my practise blocks.

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

I think it helps by eliminate the math somewhat. You cut after the ruler and only have to think on what size strip you want to use.

I am doing a log cabin quilt as well. This is the first time I have ever made a log cabin quilt. I am using Jenny's tut, but using a solid and honey bun instead of 2 honey bun strips.

I bought the Log Cabin ruler prior to cutting fabric for the Freedom Star quilt (see album). However, I did not like it. I had better accuracy using my regular Creative Grids rulers. JCY

Very pretty. I have not done a log cabin, but thinking it is high tie to do one.

I like that you made them two colors and one is white. I'd consider placing them in a line so the white goes diagonally like this picture but without the extra blocks. Of course, you can make extra blocks so you can lay it out like this one. It is kind of fun because you select the extra block patterns.
