Easter Dresden for my Easter twigs!

Every year at Easter in Sweden we take spring twigs and decorate them with feathers, eggs, chickens... Things to do with spring! This is mine this year (my 7 yr old daughter made a much more colourful version!) and of course it needed it's very own Dresden. I made it out of some scraps and other fabrics I thought fit my decorations.

So you do this where you live too?

Mine has it's very own insane chick and mother hen.

I love that! For Christmas I have a plant called Christmas berry. The berries turn red in winter. I decorate that.

No, never heard of it, but I like it! I do plan to have a small tree or "ornament display tree" that I will keep up year round and change the decorations, though.

No... We put out grass and eggs, the Easter egg, for Christians, is a reminder that Jesus rose from the grave, and that those who believe will also experience eternal life. I also display some of my cross collection with my eggs decoration.

I have some fabric I plan to make a Dresden table topper with too. Spring colors chevron fabric.

I have not heard of that tradition either...but it is very pretty. And what a great idea to use a Dresden plate to bring color to the table.

I love your Dresden and your tradition too. I had a vase with white birch branches that I put white Christmas lights on. I, of course, decorated it for Christmas one year but then decided that I liked having it in the den lit up but of course, the Christmas decor didn't stay on it. So, I would decorate it with hearts in Feb. shamrocks in March, etc. I actually still have it but moved it when we did the reno last year to keep it out of the way but I haven't taken it out again. I think I will need to take it back out and start thinking about continuing with my year-round holidat "tree". Thanks for sharing and inspiring me.

Thanks all! I really didn't think of this as only a Swedish tradition but when I tried to translate our word for it, "pÄskris", it said it was specific for Sweden. I don't think I'm representing it really well, it's usually much more colourful!

Little branches adorned with easter egg ornaments is a display one sees in the U.S. Here's what they look like: https://www.google.nl/search?q=tree+...w=1280&bih=664
