    Sashiko machine

Let's share ideas and pictures of what we can do with our Sashiko machines!

I just got my machine a few months ago. Her name is Sashiko Panda. (my grandson named her)

The first things I used her for were dresses for a birthday gift.
    hem details:

and really pretty yarn accent details

    rag quilt

and current work in progress, Oink A Doodle Moo for Project Linus

the back looks like a regular machine's stitching. not a close up picture, but you get the general idea.

I'll have to go google as I've never heard of one. Love what you've done though.

Babylock, I saw Nancy Z use one. Pretty darn neat. Love the stitch it makes.

Love it. If I was ever going to get a modern machine it would be a sashiko machine.

I didn't know they made a machine that does that. Very cool. Can you tell me the range that they retail for?

The retail price all depends on your location.

I do know the MSRP is $4,000. It is reasonable to expect to pay somewhere between 20-30% off MSRP. But again, that is all subjective to where you live.

Mine was $2,000 on sale. I've had mine for about 4 years and L-o-v-e it! It's interesting to watch how they work. They sew only from the bobbin - a thread spool isn't used at all. It only stitches a straight stitch but you can adjust the length of the stitch and the amount of space between each stitch. It makes a stitch that replicates hand quilting on the top; however, on the back of your sewing it's a straight line of stitching (not like the stitch on top).
