    Under the Sea

    Ethan quilt.jpg

My son, who is 7 1/2, asked me to make him a bed sized quilt. He then proceded to tell me it had to be an under the sea theme, and he started picking out fabrics at walmart, on line when he would see one he liked ..... well, I ended up doing raw edge applique, then using warm and natural batting with a flannel backing (because he insisted it hada to be flannel to keep him nice and warm), then I quilted the whole thing on my home machine and this is what I ended up with. He loves it and has slept with it every night this week (I just finished it last weekend and took it to quilt guild for sew and tell this past week). I cannot say I am excited about applique again again soon though.

Oh, I love this. I imagine that his little imagine goes wild looking at that scene. Just terrific.

Isn't it great to have a young man who knows what he likes? Love it! What a creative quilt.

At least he didn't insist on SpongeBob and his friends. Your quilt turned out really nice!

Wow, this is why I have yet to attempt applique! LOL
That's great, I love all the little fishy's, especially the sea horses. You even have divers, how cool is that for an under the sea theme.
Very nice quilt. Thanks for sharing.
