    Ohhh that last tutorial......

I just had to start a new project when I saw Jenny her last tutorial....
The plan is making the small one, because I only had one charmpack....the other fabric I have cut from yardage, everything bought at the shop during the retreat last october....finaly started using some of that pile of precuts I got....

I am using: Star Spangled Bandana by Bernatex and American Heroes by Windham Fabrics.

That's going to be really pretty, Klasien! There's one of Jenny's quilts I'll definitely want to make! Great design. Can't wait to see yours when it's finished.

You have to be very careful of the orientation of your HSTs when you sew them together. I made just enough to put together one block. I used some larger HSTs I had laying around and it made one very large block.

That will be a pretty quilt. I like the background fabric you've chosen. This tutorial has me really tempted to break my self imposed moratorium on starting anymore new projects. I've been trying to get a handle on my UFOs but love this latest tutorial quilt.

Here you go, Kathy...just for you! This is a 16 1/2" block. I'm not a blue person at all.

Can somebody help with the math? I'd like to use orphan charms, but I must know how many I'll need according to the size of the project.
If I understand well, each block consists in 16 HST. If you get 4 such HST from every 2 charms (one solid, one white), for each block you need the equivalent to 4 solid charms and 4 white charms. Right? Would the block size be approximately 12 1/2"?

I'm thinking of using orphan charms, too. I think I'd like to try it--but rather than cutting a charm pair into four HST, I'll cut it into two--would that create a block the size of Bubby's block shown above?
