    Note to self...

Don't use black backing or black thread again to quilt with. Other than that, I am pleased with this one. This is #16 quilt for my Angels Among Us-Oncology quilt project. Love the top...not too crazy about the black thread though. But I was already committed to the black fabric on the back and there was no turning back. Lesson learned...but I'm sure the recipient won't think twice about it. Thanks for looking! Oncology Project Quilt #16c.jpgOncology Project Quilt #16 -Big Star lap quilt - March 2014 (640x424).jpg

I like the look of black backing, but HATE working with it. Especially black thread on black backing. Just too hard to see what you are doing.

Awesome. I love the black too, but I know how hard it is to work with. It was the same way for crocheting. Looked great but near impossible to see where you are going.

I know what you mean about the black thread and batting. That's what I'm doing now. I have to cut the threads right when I done because it's too hard to find them later. And I don't want anyone "pulling" on the threads. I also took over the dining room table because of the big window next to it. Nothing like real sunlight to help you see.

the last quilt I made with black backing I found one of those lights like miners wear, and used that. It really did help.

Preeti, I don't like how the black thread looks on the white fabric. You can see EVERY mistake! Now, looking at the back...I like it. And, yes, it was hard to see the threads to cut. But when I took it outside to take the picture, I could see those threads easily.

                          Thanks everyone for the compliments.
