It's supposed to rain this weekend which means we might loose all the sakura (cherry blossoms) that just opened. So I had to hurry up and go get some shots of my new quilt that I was saving just for these blossoms. While I was taking pictures, a group of admirers snuck up behind me and were very interested. One spoke English and was a fellow quilter herself but explained she did hers by hand. She was very impressed that mine was all done on machine and so were her friends, probably not more impressed than me of the fact they hand-piece. She then inquired about the fabric and I told her I used a jellyroll and got out my phone to show her MSQC. Even though the fabric is made in Japan you just don't see it here, at least not where I am. Not to mention they use a lot of muted colors (very apparent in their clothing) and exclaimed how bright my quilt was. It was a very nice exchange and I smiled all the way home.
