    From Don-isewman--My wonderful 1924 singer 99 machine.

I have a quilting lady friend call me 1 day. She said meet me out to her farm house. I went out there. When I left, I came home with this 1924 singer sewing machine. It works fantastic. Yes I do get it out once in a while to run it. In fact April 1st, I will take it with me to my sewing group in Moline, Ill. Now that it's getting spring, we'll be haveing our monthly meetings. I go to my monthly sewing group, and I take and drop the wife off, at the casino.

O my. I do have a love for these old machines. I have several myself. My mother in laws old treadle machine is immaculate and the bill of sale in in there. She paid on the machine weekly to a shop in Youngstown and her instruction manual is in there, but it's written in Hungarian.

I just look at these machines and think of the women or men who made everything and mended everything to keep their family in good shape. I wish they could tell their stories.

What a beauty that is, I've always wanted a lovely vintage sewing machine, especially a treadle, but wow, such a great look.

Love it! I have been bitten by the vintage Singer "bug" and now I can't stop looking for them at estate and garage sales.
