    Jelly Roll Race quilt

    1509712_10152867143344657_1732447464_n.jpg

Here is the Jelly Roll Race quilt top I made Sunday afternoon. I took a jelly roll that was all solid colors, took out the 6 gray strips and replaced them with 6 other (colorful) strips. If you look carefully, you can probably pick them out. I took half the strips and cut them in half. The remaining strips I cut into thirds. I then threw them in the air to mix them up, although if I do this another time, I will put them in the dryer for a few minutes to mix them up more quickly. It took longer to sew all the pieces together to get the first 1600 inches, but after that, it went just like Jenny's video.

That's really good looking. I love JRRs when the strips are cut smaller. It almost eliminates the issue of getting clumps of the same color in one spot. VERY nice!!

That's a great idea to keep from getting too many colors in one spot. Your quilt is great.

It looks fantastic. I love the smaller pieces of color. I might have to try that next time.
