A blogging friend, Carol of Brown Quilts, asked for help for a friend of hers who has been making both quilts and pillowcases for our military. Carol's friend has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. She would like to make one more trip to Ft. Gordon to deliver pillowcases to wounded veterans at the hospital there this fall. She's asked Carol to deliver the pillowcases for her if she is not able to make the trip.
Carol wanted to make sure that her friend's last pillowcase delivery is spectacular and has asked Blog-Land for help in making patriotic pillowcases, which she will give to her friend... and has agreed to drive the pillowcases to Ft. Gordon if her friend is not able to go herself.
I have made two pillowcases...
...the body is chambray blue and the print is on the border. I used the Basic Pillowcase pattern from allpeoplequilt.com... there are six FREE pillowcase patterns on the site.
If you can make one patriotic pillowcase to send to Carol for her friend, I'm sure she'd appreciate it very much. You'd not only be doing something for our military but also helping someone's wish come true.

One other point... if you're purchasing fabric for this endeavor, avoid any with metallic ink on it... it won't be soft and comfy to lie on.
