    Completed Dresden Plate

So I started this quilt about 1 1/2 ago as an eager and relatively inexperienced quilter, lets just say I was in way over my head and didn't realize it until about 2/3 of the way through of appliquéing and piecing my top. I was just not happy with the way it was coming along and every part of me was saying rip it all apart and start over, so I did the next best thing and buried it in my always growing "to do stack"! About two weeks ago I decided it was time to finish it, applying the skills I have gathered in the past year allowed me to finish it and hide many mistakes, I even love its faults (most of them at least ha ha), it really shows me how far I have come and how time really does improve this craft, I am excited on what my progress will be like next year!

My mother in law is the intended recipient of this quilt as it was her who introduced me to the quilting world, loaned me a sewing machine before I was ready to invest in one, bought me all of my starter notions, and the fabric for my very first quilt (which is an Irish chain top, still not complete and has been that way for 7 years, I will finish it this year), I am super excited to give it to her and know that she will love and cherish it flaws and all

The plates and outer border are pieced with Flirt by Sandy Gervais, the background fabric is muslin, the inner border and binding is Kona in Lipstick (great name & beautiful color) the backing is Wrenly Voile by Free Spirit - all very beautiful and vibrant fabrics! It is a pretty nice lap/throw size Thanks for reading and looking, I am geared up and ready to start my next project or maybe even finish another from the stack ha ha!

Your quilt is beautiful. I couldn't give away my first quilt. I made it for my son and his wife for their wedding and ended up keeping it for myself. I absolutely love your colors!!!
