2 lap quilts & a full...in a week

This is "sewing with my Mom part 2" & we did this in about a week. A wonderful, fabulous week! image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg. The 2 colorful small quilts are backed with flannel. I had never tried it before & Momma thought I'd lost my mind. But, it feels amazing and we would both do it again. The larger quilt is for my DH. Thanks for looking.

I backed a baby quilt with flannel recently and I absolutely LOVE the feel and the weight of it. I will do all of my baby quilts this way from now on.

I love that last one, I have some dark solids that I wasn't sure what I could do with it, now I know.

You two are keeping busy! Love, love that rainbow watercolor looking one.

My grandma used to back all her winter quilts with flannel (being from Ohio.) I have one from her and it's almost too hot to sleep under, even in winter for me down here in the southwest. I do like flannel for baby quilts.

Thanks...somehow while sewing the blocks together we managed to have a few of them turned in the wrong direction. I don't know exactly how we messed up but i think i sewed down the wrong side of the block. We had to rip a few apart and start over to make them line up correctly. (I'm sure running our mouths, talking on the phone and generally not focusing had nothing to do with our mistakes.) but, maybe our lapse in attention will save you from the seam ripper.

Stacie, I love what you and your mom have done. The JRR quilts are to cute, and love that you backed them with flannel. Your DH quilt is entirely to comfy looking.

When you back with flannel do you still use batting & quilt the normal way? Those are all by the way!

nice quilts. i usually don't like the look of the jrr but set the way you have it the quilt has a very different look.
