    Daisy Quilt Done

Well almost done, need to figure out a border, any ideas? I also have another layer cake of this, any ideas on what pattern to use next?

This was hard to match up with so many duplicate patterns in different colors, changed my mind 15 times, never did find one that works.

This is the yardage I bought for border.

Since you're always on my mind can you straighten out the mess up there?

That looks great. I would go for a dark colour sashing and a lighter colour border...just me though. I don't think I would do a pieced border. Be sure to post pics when you are done.

I agree now but I already bought the dark but I could use that for the sashing and get a lighter color for the border.

I have that yardage in a couple colors. I love it and might get more. Not sure what I would do for your border. A cream or white would probably look great and bring out the colors more. But you are looking at it in person, and if it looks good with that yardage, then. I say go for it. Show us when your done

My sincere apologies to you, Leah. I had not scrolled down far enough to see the yardage that you had pictured. I feel really bad...I just came back to this post and realised my mistake.
As you have already bought this border fabric, then please don't take any notice of what I said. Whatever you do will be great.

No apology necessary, the picture wasn't there when you posted, I added it later. Now that you have seen the fabric I chose, lol, any suggestions on what to do now?

Not sure of how much of this fabric that you have, but I would go either of 2 ways:
Pick one of the colours that are on the dark fabric (maybe a shade of yellow ? that blends, bit hard for me to tell by picture), use that as the sashing and binding and use the dark as planned.
Or Reverse of that idea, and keep use the leftover dark fabric with the other layer cake that you have.
                  I hope that makes sense.

I love the 'He Still Loves Me' fabric! I really like the Jelly Roll Stars quilt Jenny does, called 'Sweet Stars' for Fons and Porters Quilting Quickly magazine. I think it could also be done with your layer cake. You would have to cut up your layer cake into four 2 1/2" strips, and those into 4" and 6" pieces. But, I think those stars would be so pretty in that fabric!

I'll have to check out the "sweet stars" tutorial.

Nidan, I like your idea. Originally I started sashing each block with yellow but changed my mind, now I wish I had, I really need to stop over-thinking things. I really don't care much for this quilt, I think the fabric is too busy for a pinwheel. Since my border fabric hasn't come yet I've set it aside and am working on a zipper quilt.

In my opinion, I think the black swirly fabric is too "busy" for the border. I'd suggest a plain black or navy narrow inner border, then a lighter plain (maybe light blue or yellow) outer border. Binding could be a dark color. The quilt already is "busy" with all the pinwheels. Save your black swirly fabric for another project. Just a thought. JCY

I think the whole thing is too busy, the more I look at it the more I dislike it. I agree with everybody that a lighter border would be best.

I would probably do a light sashing and border then maybe something dark for the binding. I think sashing would set off the blocks like maybe cream.
