Okay, Rhonda, help me out here. I made a similar bag today and the end pieces pop out with the load (books) in the bag. It appears you may have some velcro on yours near the top. Am I reading this right?

        I need pictures!!!!!

          I LOVE it!
Mine is looking rather weary, these days...
These would sell like hot cakes, at my place of work!
I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

Yes Sandy I put a strip of Velcro to fasten across the front and two pieces on each side to hold it when you fold it in to close it.You can't really see the velcro on the flap. It is under the pansy strip I added after the main panel was finished. The pictures do show the velcro on the front and the sides.I hope this helps.
I didn't have a pattern. Just as always flew by the seat of my pants. I did have her old lunch tote that zips around the top to look at but zippers are not my favorite so I had to improvise with the little pieces of Velcro on the sides.

Thanks Sue. From start to finish it took me about 5 hours to finish this one. You should start cranking them out and selling them.
I'm sure I could be quicker after I made a few more. This one has insulbright in it too.

Thanks Vernona. She is going to buy this one. She seen the one I made last week and said "Make me one and I will buy it!" So since I have to support my fabric habit I said "o.k. What do you want it to look like?" And this is what I came up with. Shot her a picture and she loves it.

I'm not just buying fabric, I am supporting the economy...

Yea Lisa. all you need is an old tote and a tape measure! I look up how to videos on youtube and it will give you TONS of ideas.
You can do it without a pattern easy peasy!!!
