My first finished quilt

I've just put the final stitches into my very first quilt! It's by no means perfect, the back is a little wrinkly, but I am so pleased with it I am almost fit to burst

The quilt is for my Mother, her birthday is on May 8th and I can't wait until I can hand it over to her.

I stitched in the ditch and used the fabulous tutorial someone posted on the forum to put the piped binding on. The pictures show the quilt on my bed (UK king size) and close ups of the back and binding.

Now I can't wait to make a start on my next one

Sandra, this is gorgeous. I love it. Your mom will love it. Can't believe it's a first quilt. I'm working on my first now. Was the stitch inthe ditch difficult, scary? What color thread did you use?

Mother's day or not, birthday or not I'm sure your mother is appreciating her quilt, as it was done with love, sweat and enthusiasm.
I'm talking from a motherexperience. Plus the quilt is really nice!!!!
