My first ever attempt at binding by hand...

Ta daaa.... yes, definitely has flaws, and I gotta work on hiding the knots; but it's an 8" X 12" wall hanging so no-one will ever look at the back! I actually enjoyed the peaceful nature of the hand sewing (does that sound weird???)

You did a fine job. Many quilters love to hem bindings by hand - myself included.

Cute wallhanging! I love the look of hand binding and it is peaceful work.

I enjoy hand binding. That is unless I have something else that I am just itching to start. Nice wall hanging. You're right no one will look at the back.

I too love to do hand binding. It is something that I do while watching tv. I don't need an extra blanket. I just curl up in the one I'm putting the binding on.

Very nice. Not weird at all. I love to sit and hand bind. I only machine bind if I am in a rush and need to get it done. I do some of the PICU quilts by machine, to get them done faster.

I, too, enjoy hand binding. I feel like I have more control over it, and it is relaxing sitting in a comfy chair stitching on the binding.

I don't mind doing binding by hand. I used to love to hand quilt, but arthritis in my wrist/thumb makes this painful now. I can usually manage a quilt binding if I rest a couple of times. When I do it on a machine, it never looks quite right.

I never really learned to sew, but learned to quilt. Sometimes I think I need to learn it for the tranquility. So ya I get it. Maybe I will give it a try. This looks good!
