    Vintage dresses

Made 2 dresses for a friend's little girl's 4th birthday. I LOVE making dresses for little girls. Both these patterns are from the 1930's. I used my Sashiko machine to add details and for the hems.

I really LOVE the vintage sleeve details.

Oh I love the first one! I'd love to have a Sashiko machine but I'd probably not use it enough to purchase. I love the look of hand stitch stitches.

Those are so precious! I love them. I often have to build dresses like this for costumes, they are so much fun to build! Yours are especially darling!

I love these dresses. I wish girls big and little would wear them more often.

The details are just amazing! And the fabrics look like they came out of a trunk in the attic - only more substantial. I hope she knows these are a keepsake.

                          Thank you Jean!

I used OLD vintage patterns I found on eBay. Very interesting directions!

I love to sew dresses, just don't have much reason to anymore.

I went with vintage patterns because I couldn't find much in modern ones that looked like LITTLE girl styles, not cut down smaller, big girls styles.

I think she did appreciate them!

And the fabric came right from Missouri Star Quilt Co
