You have been a busy bee! I really like the hunter's star that you are doing. I love that pattern - is it difficult?

Hunter Star is one of my favorite patterns but I haven't been brave enough to try one yet! Is it as hard as it looks?

Quilt With The Stars: Deb Tucker, Part 2 - YouTube
I am using Deb Tuckers method, but I do not have her ruler.

This is the process I am using.
There is also a way to make it using 1/2 sq triangle blocks, but the trapezoid is then split in half with a seam. So far I am not having any trouble. My blocks are 14" and I have 20 of 42 done with 11 more started.

Very nice work. I really like the hunters star! Thanks for posting the links. I made one square using this technic, Cascade Quilts: Hunter's Star tutorial ( the half square triangle way) I gave up tho, wasn't turning out well.

I think my biggest problem was not knowing which way to press the seams?

pick a color and press everything toward that color. I chose the teal color. My first few blocks were pressed like Deb Tucker suggested and I either didn't understand or it didn't work for me. When I pressed everything toward one color things nested very nicely.

Thank you, I may have to try another one.

                  Re: finished one started another

I have a scrappy one on my design wall right now, I borrowed the ruler from a friend and made the blocks. Now I need to put borders on it to call it done. I would love to continue the star points into the inner border but don't have the foggiest about how to do that and specially without the ruler so I guess it will have a straight border which will be fine.

The Hunter's Star is beautiful. Such simplicity - just two colors - makes for a stunning quilt.
Thank you for sharing the tutorial.
