    Square in a Square

Hi all! Been a little MIA from the forum of late - been busy with this:

    IMG_0903.jpgIMG_0917.jpg

The pieced back presented some challenges but with a little luck (OK a lot) and being very careful I was able to get it pretty darn close to perfectly line up!

There are more pics and details on my blog (link in my sig line) I used Xanadu batiks Jelly Roll and Charm Pack and instead of a 1.5 inch square around the charm I used a 2 inch strip - I had NO extra from the jelly roll strip. There were only 40 pieces in each pack. Hence the change in plans and the very intricate backing

    Thanks for looking!

Beautiful! I really like your back - it could be a front! I just started a square in a square quilt today.

I agree... The back really could be a front! Beautiful work..... A great quilt.

I want to do this block with Bali Lights... I have two charm packs... Now to get a jelly roll... I'd love for it to be DD.

Thanks everyone! The best part is that I asked the recipient where she wanted me to send it (she is in flux as to living residence right at the moment, finishing up a job in one state, moving back home soon) and she said she said she is coming to get it (she is currently in AZ but it is a pretty big state! haha)! I'm so excited because I usually do not get to see reactions to my quilts in person since most of my family lives out of state.

Sandy, this quilt would look awesome with Bali Lights! What about doing Bali Darks as the Jelly Roll? That might look really cool!
