Stick a fork in it! DONE !

Quite a journey to get here! Commission-2 quilts for sisters' bedroom in purple and green fabrics. One due Feb, 8-11. Patterns, Irish Chain and Xs and Os.

Fabric ordered Jan. 19, it was 8 days stuck in my local mail facility!

    K. McEuen saves the day--sends me charms for the second one.

Finally get fabrics, build a beautiful Irish Chain top while babysitting DGKs, miscut 80 squares in the process.

Top size misjudged, way too big! Use scraps from miscut fabrics to do second itteration!

Two snow days with DGKs here, no sewing. I get back to it, sewing machine goes belly up!

Take it for repair, will take over a week! I do have back up machines. Finish piecing top, start on Xs and Os, get those blocks finished.

Decide not to wait on old machine, trade it for the new and improved version!

Finish the borders. Put on quilt frame ( last night!)

Couldn't sleep, so I finished quilting and binding just a little while ago!

    Phew! Made my deadline!

That looks great, Jean! I liked your first one, but really like this one. The white border seems to frame it so well. You are getting good at your long arm quilting too.

Just beautiful. And talk about meeting a deadline!! And I know about trying to accomplish anything while the grandkids are around. My granddaughters are here right now for the weekend which means zero quilting.

                          Fantastic job, as always, Jean.
