    Simple Rainbow Zig-Zag Baby Quilt

This quilt fought me the entire way- from simple square blocks not being square or lining up to breaking thread during quilting but I suffered through and I'm reasonably happy with how it came out. It will be a gift for a childhood friend who is having a baby this summer.

Pattern is available here: FunThreads Designs: Zig-Zag Rainbow Tutorial
I used a cheap solid jelly roll rather than the scrappy look they went with.

Hard to get a god picture of it but it is a one row longer than it is wide. The colors are just basic red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, red, orange, yellow. You can pretty clearly see that the rows do not line up very well but it is "close enough".

Here is the flannel it is backed with.

And here is a close up of what the binding looks like. This picture is actually of the Bento Box quilt we made for another friend but it uses all the same fabrics, just made into a Bento Box instead of ZigZag quilt:
Loosely based on a true story.

I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....
