    too pretty for a placemat

I had scraps leftover from strip tube blocks - the triangles left over at the edges, some left over binding and scraps of batting. I made placemats, using quilt as you go method and here is the result.

These placemats are too pretty to be covered by a plate of food. And if I was a world-renowned chef, I would not want these pretty placemats to distract from the gourmet food on the plate.

In my opinion (biased, as it may be) they are stand-alone pieces of art. What do you think? Should I just frame them and use as wall art? Please help.

Beautiful colors! Placemats are nice but you could make a very cool wall hanging from these--I think that's what I would do.

Those are beautiful. I would agree about putting hanging them up - too pretty to eat on.

I agree with everyone. They are gorgeous. Display them on the wall. There is nothing so infuriating as having someone spill food or drink on something as beautiful as that, especially if it is a glass of red wine. Ask me how I know...

Very pretty..........I would hang them in on the wall for awhile. You could always take them down & use as place mats later.

Wow, those are stunning. I think they would look AMAZING grouped just as you have them, on the wall with a wee bit of space between them. I got RED wax on my table runner and now it's stained. I wouldn't want to see those get any food or wine on them! Hang 'em!

I agree with everyone else. They are very pretty and as a placemat they would only get food dropped on them. The wall is a much better place for them.
