    Farmer's Granddaughter QAL Update

I find myself in an odd position: I don't have any projects I'm working on at the moment, so I've been working on the FGQAL blocks. Tonight I was wondering how they all look together, so I laid them all out on the kitchen floor. Holy cow there are a lot of them! I've stitched 85 blocks so far (a number of them are duplicates). In laying them out, I realized some of them are too small and will need to be redone. Oy! The picture doesn't do them justice, as they're much more vibrant than depicted.

Very nice Meli! They will be awesome when you have them all done. Are you planning on doing all 111 blocks?

This is quite an achievement. They look great!
            How big are the blocks?
May the road rise up to meet you...
May the wind be always at your back...
May you be in Heaven a half hour before the Devil knows you're dead...

Great idea, Meli......I should lay mine out and look at them again....perhaps that will spur me on to getting back into those little blocks. I never should have stopped my momentum!

Snippet, as the leader of the QAL, I HAVE to do all 111. More than that, though, I'm making a king sized quilt, so I need 145 blocks total. Am trying to find other vintage patterns to make up the difference, but will likely end up just making duplicates of the ones I like. It's amazing to me how changing the colors slightly can completely change the look of the block. In fact, when I made the Linoleum block, I very carefully picked out the fabrics and put it together, but didn't like the result. So I traded two fabrics places and it made a huge difference. Looks like a completely different block!
