quilt from my first quilting class

DSCN4914.JPGDSCN4915.JPGwe had to make many different blocks, learn borders and batting and binding.....

was larger than i thought it was going to be because i fell in love with borders....little did i know how hard it would be to fit thru my machine for the actual "quilting !!"

but it was worth it.....i had an extra block and of course extra fabric so i made a pillow....i had finished a smaller one that i did on my own first....but i guess this is the officialDSCN4914.JPGDSCN4915.JPG first. i named her "the beast"

Very nice. I never would have thought to put the grey in there but it look really great. Glad you put that little idea in my brain.

the pix must make something look grey....but there's not a hint of it in there. beiges, browns (love that batik !!) rose (almost solid) and sort of orangey print ....back is beige with darker beige stars. "my" quilt shop has a wonderful array of fabric...and some of it demands to come home with me after each class. next week is the last class, but i will sign up for more for sure.

              i love it.

made a disappearing nine patch from 2 charm packs and finished that one last evening....i can't seem to get enough. will post that one too.

super job..... and now you know why people (like me) "squeeze" a quilting frame and machine into the middle of my sewing room.... lots of walking AROUND it, but it is so worth it... when the quilt top is done.... LOL

Beautiful quilt and pillow and cat! I loved doing my sampler quilt when I took classes as well. So much fun to learn different blocks.
