Disappearing Windmill Sample Blocks #1 & #2 (Churn Dash)

Can you tell I like purple/lavender? I used fabric from my FQ stash. I started with 12.5" squares. My 4 sections were not exactly 8.5" square; I needed to square them to 8-3/8". It's a bit tricky to get all 9 pcs. cut exactly the same. But I liked the results with both blocks. One definitely needs to be careful to not stretch the fabric, because once it's cut, every single piece is on the bias. I prefer to press the HST seams open to reduce bulk. The resulting block was ~15.5". These might be in my future, but not any time soon. Too many other UFOs. JCY

Pretty blocks! I was halfway through making blocks using the first tutorial, then she posted the churn dash tutorial. I like churn dash better than the other! But I persisted with the first style. Now I need to finish putting the blocks together.

I decided I like the Churn Dash better, too. JCY
