    Alice's first project!

Not really quilted (except for the decorative stitches) but made with fabric from our K. McEuen. Alice chose the fabrics (they are a mix of her own, my stash and the ones she got from Karen) and she has sewn quite a few of the seams too, but she kept losing interest and going away lol. She also chose the decorative stitches and colours for the treads of course. Here's to hoping she and (eventually) David will find the same joy in sewing as I have!

Very cute! With hope, her attention span will extend a little more each time she sews and sees progress!

That's a wonderful first project. It's normal for attention spans to be short at her age. The more she does the more excited she will become.

I bought machines for my daughters. They just seem so busy all the time. I've been home since Sept. and we still haven't begun. I'd at least like to teach them how to thread the machine before I leave again. Something tells me that's not going to happen.

The bag looks great! She did a super job on it. She's got a good eye for color as well. Nice pick on the fabrics.

I'd love to give Alice credit for the matching fabrics but to be honest she chose the base fabric (the candy exterior) and I helped her make good choices for the rest by narrowing things down significantly (same for the matching threads). Kids, they must be the kitchiest creatures there are!

How old are your daughters? I asked for sewing time with my sister and mother as a Christmas present but I'm still thinking it will be up to me to organise it if it will ever happen.

I don't know who Alice is or her age but what's the excuse for my 48 year old sister????
