    my first quilt

i am taking a beginner course....making different 12 inch blocks.....

BUT i saw a video on the "easy tumbler" and had my DH make a template for me....and had to do it even before i finished the classwork one !!

    here's the finished one....

(will take a pix of the 12 block quilt made in class tomorrow...i named her "the beast".....lot of work, but sooo worth it. just finished the hand stitching on the binding tonight)

Such a nice job! One would never guess it was your first time. You have a clever husband, too! Keep up the great work, Pam.

This is tooo cute! I just got my tumbler in mail today and can't wait to start using it! Love the colors...is it a charm pack? If not how many pieces?
To quilt or not to quilt?.....what a ridiculous question!

Beautiful job on your quilt. I remember taking my quilting classes a year ago and doing the sampler quilt with different blocks. I have become a quilting addict since then! Keep up the good work.

                            Re: my first quilt

thanks for all the nice comments....yes, i am afraid the addiction has kicked in.

for the tumbler i bought 1/4 yd of five different fabrics and one other fabric for the backing....i just loved the colors too. i know you are not supposed to point out errors, but oh boy....there are many in this lap quilt !! i learn more with each piece i sew.

important lessons....tighten everything ! my walking foot undid my needle...that was scary.....and i also have to write down the stitches (width/length) because my new janome reverts back to default when turned off. who knew that ?!! my old kenmore stayed the same no matter what. and it is tough to remember the settings if i dont record them first. learned those two things the hard way !
